Service, offers visitors the opportunity to get up close and personal with nature. Discovery Center programs include free naturalist-led weekend nature walks, interpretive programs,
stargazing parties, canoe and kayaking tours, family campfire programs and hiking along the Pacific Crest Trail. There are also hands-on experiences panning for gold, building a birdfeeder, map and compass skills,
and high-flying rockets. Happy paddlers - will enjoy the Grout Bay Canoe and Kayak tours Thursdays through Sundays. Nature walks are 1 and 2 p.m. Saturdays; 11 a.m. Sunday; and Thursday Night Hikes.
Children will enjoy Story Time from 12:30 to 1 p.m. every other Saturday. There is a Campfire Series at 7 or 8 p.m. (check schedule) covering topics from the Moonridge

Every weekend in December Santa and Mrs. Claus hear children's Christmas wishes at the Santa House in the Village, and carols roam the Village entertaining holiday shoppers. Tis' the season and Big Bear celebrates it in style.
