Snow Summit is open for summer. Come up and experience our summer activities including hiking, biking, sightseeing and golf and be sure to have lunch at the View Haus BBQ high atop Big Bear at 8,200 feet.  Up the mountain Big Bear Lake is a good producer of wild brown trout. Running clear and cool below Big Bear Dam, Bear Creek also supports a good population of rainbows and, some say, a few salmon. While I've never seen a salmon caught out of the stream, I know they exist in Big Bear Lake. So it is possible. Two trailheads east of Snow Valley Ski Resort provide good access to the stream below. While the fishing is good in the upper reaches of the stream, the further down you go the better it gets and the greater the ratio of browns to rainbows. This year, even before the runoff was complete, I met an angler down near the confluence with the Santa Ana that had caught and released a 19" brown along with a couple of nice 'bows. In the last few years with the improved water situations and nicer weather it could be even better in the years to come.

For our very special friends and valued guests, please read and take advantage of
our 33% discount policy for returning 3 day group events at Golden Bear Cottages Resort.
This is your special group deal, and ensures that the lodge is reserved for next year's event:
- Free Night - To receive a free night, guest must book their cabin before leaving this year or prior to deadline. Free night can be used (with a minimum of 2 paid days) on either Thursday before the weekend event or the Sunday at the end of the event.
- Deposit for next year's event must be a minimum of 25% or $100.00. A second 25% will be due 90 days from event departure date. The balance will be due upon arrival at next year's event. This deposit guarantees your cabin, and there are no refunds, but another group member may take your cabin if there is a reason you cannot attend next year's event. Automatic free date change if event date changes.
- The group leader may be entitled to one free night for each 10 cabins booked by their group. Maximum of 3 free days if the entire lodge property is booked by your group. (some cabin size limitations may apply, please confirm with our office).
